Lee Hyer's "Trauma Victim" is the most competent guide to the treatment of trauma victims I have encountered in over 30 years of research and application in the pastoral counseling of trauma victims. He makes extremely valid clinical observations, and admits the shortcomings of his profession to effectively deal with some of the most severe problems such as Post-traumatic Stress, and "Survivor Guilt". The value of this book in the treatment of troubled souls is somewhat lacking when read in the light of what  Dianetics technology can accomplish.

     Although not a mental health manual, "Sexual Paraphilias - Therapy by Hick-Farmer Sigmund Freud Wannabes" explains all of the sexual deviations of Man, and illustrates the harm that can be done by crusading "abuse counselors" who profess to help victims of rape and sexual abuse, and "treat" the (alleged) offenders with the dubious practices of psychiatry and psychology.

     The book "The Battered Spouse and The Abused Child" is a study of domestic violence based on the film "Once Were Warriors". This is also NOT a legal manual, but if you are a lawyer or a concerned individual who is dealing with victims, you should get this book.
